  1. Google Clamping Down on Ticket Resale Sites

Tod Wilson (our Director of Sales & Marketing) was at the International Ticketing Conference (INTIX) last week in Baltimore, MD where he attended the closing session which was presented by Google. Starting the second week of February, Google will require secondary ticketing sites to register with them and meet a Code of Conduct if they want to use Google AdWords. Here are a couple of links with more details:

The upside to this is that Google is providing venues with a mechanism which they can use to report companies that are spoofing their sites and using their venue names to sell tickets.

This sounds really quite interesting, and we’re looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

  1. Splitting a Patron from a Household

Have you ever had a need to split a patron from a household? Perhaps a younger patron has left the nest and is now part of their own household, or perhaps it is because of an unfortunate break up of a household. Whatever the reason, the steps to do this are incredibly easy:

  1. Open the patron record for the patron you wish to split.
  2. Right-click on the patron’s name in the household members list.
  3. Check “Split patron into new household”.
  4. Click the “Yes” button on the warning pop-up window.

Voilà! It’s done. The patron will be split from the household, and all of their historical data will remain with their record.

  1. REST API

You’ve probably heard us talk about the REST API a few times, and were perhaps wondering how you could use this function in your organization.

The REST API features allows access to the database fields using a URL. This can be entered directly into a browser or accessed through a third party program using custom design.

Here are a few examples of what some of our clients are using it for:

  • Populate WordPress for their main marketing site
  • Create custom season renewal notices with add-ons and upgrade options
  • Integration with a third-party granting software

If you would like more information on the REST API, please check out our help pages.
